20 years of serving the Christmas
Industry

Welcome to Christmas in January and February

In 1990 I first published ‘Christmas in January’ as a collection of Christmas decoration exhibitors as part of our sister publication ‘Toys ‘n’ Playthings’ preview to the Harrogate Toy Fair.
Such was the interest shown, that I was encouraged to publish the following year, a stand-alone edition mailed to 5,000 buyers of Christmas-related product. Twenty years on and ‘Christmas in January’ has grown to be the accepted bible of this industry in the UK. Back in 1990, outdoor lighting was in its infancy, Christmas trees and garlands were primarily made from tinsel and probably within the UK, no more than 30 or so suppliers showed at Harrogate. Fast forward to 2010 and the bulk of the exhibitors at Harrogate are Christmas decoration companies where design and fashion trends shape the various ranges on display.

The industry has made massive strides since I first introduced ‘Christmas in January, so much so that in 2000, Christmas in February was published to highlight those exhibitors showing at Spring Fair. With Frankfurt’s Christmas World attracting more and more exhibitors and buyers from around the world, Christmas in February will preview both these shows. In addition to the UK circulation of 5,800 copies, we shall also mail 2,000 further copies to selected overseas visitors to Christmas World.
